Landscape Maintenance

Continuous maintenance and seasonal refreshes are a key part of our offering, helping gardens transition smoothly through the year. Spring and fall clean-ups focus on preparing the landscape for the season ahead — restoring structure, encouraging healthy growth, and ensuring planting beds, perennials, and garden spaces are set up for success.

Sawmill & Kiln Services

We use a professional Peterson Portable Reciprocating Sawmill to custom mill logs into dimensional lumber tailored to each project.

To further prepare lumber for long-term use, we utilize an iDry kiln, enabling controlled drying for improved stability, reduced moisture content, and more predictable performance in outdoor and landscape applications.

Sawmill and kiln services are available as part of our landscape projects or as standalone services.

Clients may supply their own logs, or we can coordinate sourcing and delivery as needed.

Custom log milling to specified dimensions

Client-supplied or sourced logs

Our sawmill and kiln services are priced based on time, volume, and project scope, with all work quoted in advance.

Sawmill Services: Priced by the hour or by board foot, depending on job size and complexity
Kiln Drying: Priced separately based on volume, thickness, and drying time
Log Supply: Client-supplied logs or sourcing and delivery arranged at additional cost
Integrated Projects: Milling and kiln services can be bundled into landscape projects

A refined plan for established spaces. Designed for mid-sized projects and garden refreshes, the Grow Package offers a more detailed planting plan and design direction.

A complete vision for your entire property. The Thrive Package delivers a comprehensive master plan that considers the whole landscape — now and into the future. This phased, contractor-ready design allows for intentional growth over time, with optional coordination to support installation.

Behind the scenes!

Hi, I’m Shellby Macdonald— the founder and horticulturist behind MAC & Meadow.

Raised in a farming family, my connection to plants and the land has shaped both my life and my work.

With over a decade of experience in horticulture and landscape design — including seven years independently designing and caring for municipal gardens — I bring a thoughtful, long-term perspective to every landscape I create.

My approach is grounded in science and guided by experience, with a Bachelor of Science from Brock University focused on biology and plant pathology, complemented by a Landscape Design Diploma and Horticulturist Certificate from the University of Guelph. As a certified Project Management professional, I lead each project with clarity, care, and attention to detail. Through MAC & Meadow, I create sustainable, edible, and modern landscapes that feel intentional, enduring, and deeply connected to place — spaces designed not just to be beautiful at first glance, but to grow stronger and more meaningful over time.
